Andrew Philip is our youngest and usually most cooperative child.
He had a score of 10 on the APGAR chart immediately from the womb. I
can’t say he has been perfect, but, so far, he hasn't given us much
trouble at all.
In order to avoid a flood of
calls to Homeland Security, it is important to note that
the events he witnessed on his ninth birthday, September
11, 2001, and his great admiration for his father’s service
in
the U.S. Marine Corps, have combined to shape Andrew’s
interests
and aspirations. After reading them, you will understand the importance
of my disclaimer:
•
Military,
military,
and more military
•
Weaponry,
ammo,
and camo (He won’t wear anything but black,
green, and brown. Seriously.)
•
History,
geography,
languages, social studies, government, and politics
(He’s really good at math and science, too!)
This child memorized all the
countries of the world,
. . . .all 193 of them, . . . and their capital cities . . . . just for
fun. In his spare time, he keeps track of all the terrorist networks of
the world via the internet. If I have a question about anything going
on in the world, I ask Andrew about it. He knows current events
firsthand and has a knack for interpreting those events according to
his world view. Amazing.
Andrew
graduated from our home school high school in June of 2010 and plans to
enter the U.S. Marine Corps in the fall of 2010.
